Short-Term Running Goals:

Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

Long-Term Running Goals:

QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON! April 16, 2011

Ran Boston on April 14, 2012!

Personal:

Married, 40 year old, mother of four.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

1 hr on the bike.....1 hr on the elliptical in my basement. YUCK!

I've had a busy week of kids and showing our house.  People like it again and are thinking about it.....this will be couple #4 in the past few months that are very interested and I am sure we will never hear from them again.  It is okay because my house was needing a good deep clean again.  I like it when I have to clean for a reason and not just my everyday routine!

I don't know what to do about my foot.  This is the first time I have been on the elliptical that the top half of my foot didn't tingle and I am not having any pain, but I have also been wearing my boot most of the week.  I am crossing my fingers!  I just wish someone would tell me what to do.  I really don't want to re-injure my foot, but I would really like to get back at it so I can be in good shape for Boston.

I called and can't get in to see my orthopedic doc for a month since it is not an emergent problem.   I have an old boyfriend that lives out of state that is a podiatrist.....I have even thought of sending off a message to ask him his opinion, but since he hates my guts, I guess that isn't a good idea either.  Wish I knew what to do! If I just had some patience and didn't care about getting out of shape, I am sure taking a couple of months off and doing nothing would do the trick! :(
