"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

8 miles on the elliptical :(

I am going in for an MRI on my knee on Monday.  I ended up seeing my orthopedic doc this week because my sister fell trail running and has to have knee surgery.  As soon as the doc saw me in his office he started laughing and asked how many miles I was running even though I am not suppose to be running.  I said....NONE!   If I run, I am in pretty bad pain and can't do much for a week or so later, even turning over in bed hurts my knee.  He looked concerned, so I asked if that was not normal for 8 months after microfracture.  He said that after 6 months, I should be able to run without pain although he wouldn't recommend it.  He said that we need an MRI and depending on what it showed he will probably have to go back in and take a look.  I got home and called my hub and started to cry.  I really don't want to go through this again!!!  Even the elliptical and bike hurt my knee.  I will probably be in pain for the next couple of days from doing 8 on the elliptical.  I did 13.1 on New Years and have been paying for it all week.  I just can't stand to see everyone running half marathons on FB and not be able to join in on the fun. :(

I have been doing so many projects on my house and have turned into a clean freak.  I have to have some outlet and nothing makes me feel good like running.  I am getting ready to paint my laundry room today, then I am taking my two girls to the Justin Bieber concert tonight.  It should be a fun girls night out with my two cuties!
