Short-Term Running Goals:

Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

Long-Term Running Goals:

QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON! April 16, 2011

Ran Boston on April 14, 2012!

Personal:

Married, 40 year old, mother of four.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

Blogging on my phone again. Tough run today. My legs didn't want to cooperate. Didn't have anything but water on the run and I am paying for it now! Not feeling so hot! Downtown waiting for the ballet to start again. Closing night is tomorrow! :) :) :)

What's wrong with just water? Should I be eating french fries or something during my long runs?

You don't take anything on your long runs Rattle? My body is out of energy about mile 8! I'm always in need of some calories....they just make me feel better!

You need some calories, because you have no fat on your body. You just need a few more months of food storage on your hips and you'll be fine with just water :) Enjoy the ballet while you can :)

I usually stop for some water on my long runs if there is a fountain available. I don't take gu or anything unless I'm in a race.
