Short-Term Running Goals:

Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

Ran Boston on April 14, 2012!

Personal:

Married, 40 year old, mother of four.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

I had all sorts of plans to run today and I ended up cleaning my house too long, making pancakes and bacon for my kids and two nephews that slept over....laundry got the better of me and when I looked at the clock and realized that I was about out of time, I ran down to the treadmill and ran myself sick.

I thought I would get to run later today but again ended up with too much going on around here.  What can I say....I am a mother of four and I like to play more than work! 4 hours at the pool today about did us all in! My house is clean and laundry done and we had a fun day.  Not a great run day for me.  I am becoming more and more afraid of my Bryce Canyon half marathon in a week! ha!

I'm afraid that you've all the sudden become a responsible adult.

Just kidding. That was mean. I don't even know why I said it.

You did more than most people would've done on a day like that. Think of it as good rest for your half next week!

Sounds like a great day though! Good luck on the half. I bet it will be beautiful!
