Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

I couldn't resist getting out today for a run.  Blue skies and sunshine! I told my hub that I was just going to run until it started to hurt and then I would walk.  He said, "ya right. You will run the whole thing".  Well, I did stop at 2.5 to chat with a neighbor and it was hurting so I walked for a bit and ran the rest of the way home.  Sore, but not too bad!

It was so cool to see all of the Hillcrest High Football team out riding their bikes along Wasatch Blvd for their 50 miler while I ran.  I was cheering them all on.  My nephew is one of them.   At the corner of Wasatch and South Little Cottonwood were 4 Hillcrest cheerleaders cheering them on.  It was a fun morning!

The mountains are so incredibly beautiful right now! I wish I could have done 10 and then ran up my Bells trail...instead I came home and mowed and edged the lawn.  It probably would have been better on my knee and hip to run up the trail and back.

I get to go do another charity event this afternoon.  I am kind of donated out right now!  Don't know how I will do the charity thing since I have a puking kid today and my hub just left town...yipppeeeeee!!  If I get some time I will ride my bike for an hour.

Way to show charity. They say that's the highest form of love.

Nice run! Yay!

Very happy about your run as well! I hear you re it being easier to run than do chores... vacuuming in particular tends to really make sore spots worse.

Really really hope you can get out for longer runs with your beloved trails and mountains soon. You're doing great with the patience - just keep at it and you'll be there soon. :)

The mountains are very beautiful. I can't wait to get out on one.

I love your great attitude :) Oh, how I can hear those "yippeeeee"s in my head. Being a mother runner myself I've had more than a few of those days. Hope things turned out well for your afternoon and that the knee and hip start cooperating with you soon.

I like running in the sun also. However, Saturday drained me. We also have had a ton of rain (and snow) this year. Original plan was for a long run over 20 miles. I didn't get there :) Happy running.
