Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

Got my lazy butt out of bed early to run this morning.  I have too many things to do today and couldn't wait until kids were out of the house and my 7th grader was home to babysit because it is jr.high late start day today.

5 miles at 47 minutes! Really....sad, I know! I was a huffing and puffing! Felt good to be out in the canyon. Mtns are beautiful!  NO PAIN! I am only suppose to be on 2 miles...but couldn't resist!

Eww...don't you love that burnt smell that never leaves your house after burning something? I am not really helping with my smell after running and mowing. I better get the windows open!

Burt...that trick NEVER works on my kids! They couldn't eat cereal this morning and nagged me until I gave in to make the french toast! Nags!

Pretty funny because Scott is currently upstairs making my kids french toast with the cinnamon bread from Great Harvest! He won;t burn it, but I would!

OK, I just read your entire week. Very interesting about birth damaging your left side of your body. Darn kids, the things we go through to get them here (and then to keep them here). Good luck with all of that strength training and speed work. When this is all over, you will be the fastest 5ker around. Speed work is GOOD! I am jealous cause I am forbidden from doing anything fast for another month.

Kelli, you never burn anything. You're the best little cooker!

Pretty sure I burned something last Father's Day.
