Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

Fun run with my nephew.  He had been in California for a week, so it was fun to hear about his week vacation.  He is as crazy and accident prone as I am.

I noticed about half way through the run that my right foot was really hurting, since my hand was really hurting the first few miles, maybe I didn't notice my foot pain.  It has been hurting a little for the past couple of weeks.  I thought that I should probably stop but didn't.  It is really hurting me now.  If I have another stress fracture.....swearwords! I have already paid 500 bucks for my room in St. George that is non-refundable!

Maybe I am just not made to run.  :(

Maybe it is nothing and will feel fine tomorrow...at least that is what I am hoping for!

People who are not made to run, don't and can't run over 18 miles. You proved that on your recent half - remember, there is no secret ingredient ;) Chin up, this too will pass!! Oh and if you need a strongly worded letter.... perhaps we can make a project of it :)

You are an amazing runner!! Everyone goes through times when things don't work out the way they wanted them to. I hope your foot feels better!!!

No worries. You'll be ready to roll and if you want me to bring an extra scooter for the race just let me know.. I'll be the guy dragging behind one of those balloon runners..

Hoping for the best on your injuries. I hope you have padded walls in your house, and foam carpet; we don't need anything else to happen.

Ahhhh...I know how you feel. The funny thing is (well not so funny) I ran for a year without any goals and had no real injury problems, then when I start setting goals I start hurting myself. Hopefully it will be nothing. Hope to see you back running in the next couple of days. I guess if it is a stress fracture you can start biking with me :-)
