Short-Term Running Goals:

Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

Chewed down some Ibuprofen and ran 4 miles with my husband's old girlfriend, since we are running a half marathon together in a month.  Hiked up to Bells Reservoir with my kids and family.  Ran a dirt trail while my kids were at a dance camp. I played at the pool with my kids, then had a Justin Bieber party at my house tonight. I'm still sore, but did it anyway! :)

Trying to wrap my Texas brain around that one.

Good to see you running! I'm with flatlander on that one.... every body is so "Chillaxed" in Utah. "Yeah I went running today with all my wife's ex-boyfriends.... it was a big party" Ha ha!

I know ... the exgirlfriend thing is a bit of a long story. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer...haha. Just kidding. I love her now!

My sister is in town from Seattle for the week and left a cardboard, full size, stand-up of Justin Bieber on our front door and told us to have my 10 year old girl (Sarah) answer the door. It was funny! She thinks JB is super HOT! So, we decided to have a JB party last night.

Good to see you back at it. I was worried you might still be on your back watching old movies. Running and dancing to Bieber sounds like a lot more fun. Well... the running part anyway. :)

I have not ran into my wife's old boyfriend, but when I do rest assured no words will be spoken. There will just be one swift kick to the man area.

Lifesize cardboard replica of JB? Yikes! Scary scary stuff. :O (but bet Sarah adored it!)

I'm recently divorced. In my world, my ex-husband's former girlfriends are cool. Hehehe. Actually, come to think on it, so is my ex... we are still friends. Now how's that for trippy, Burt? LOL.

From Burt on Thu, Jun 16, 2011 at 17:09:19 from 206.19.214.144

All Canadians are trippy. In my world.

I must admit, I read 'chewed down some ibuprofen' and I dry heaved. Why? I am weird today....

Glad you can run again :)

baby, baby, baby Oh no!

Glad you had a wonderfully fun day and got everything done you'd hoped to do. Plus a bit extra it sounds :)

I may have to go back to the Ibuprofen if my knee doesn't start feeling better. I've heard it's not very good for you liver though. Last time (with the bone spur) my doctor (a marathoner) told me to take 4 or 5 and "just run".

Running with your "husband's old girlfriend" ... humm sounds fun...!!!

From Steam8 on Fri, Jun 17, 2011 at 19:10:23 from 166.70.55.77

I took three Ibuprofen this morning and was in pain the first couple of miles, but my back started feeling better and then my knees were hurting! Am I just getting too old?

From I Just Run on Fri, Jun 17, 2011 at 19:25:15 from 166.205.14.240

Don't even go there...! Take a couple more Ibuprofen and think young thoughts :-)
