I hurt my foot.....the same foot.....at kickboxing last Wednesday.  I guess I really shouldn't be kicking a large bag with the top of my foot when I have a cyst and just healed from a stress fracture.   I haven't been on the blog because I was so mad about it!!!  It hurt to walk again and was aching most of the day, every day.  I didn't run on Thurs or Friday.  It was feeling a bit better on Saturday and I thought I  would head out for a run on Saturday morning, but my husband got paged into the hospital because someone had just died that was a donor and he needed to go and make sure all of the organs were healthy enough to be used for transplants.  Sad day that someone lost his life before Christmas, but whomever it was gave some wonderful gifts for those waiting for a new life.

I quickly threw on my running clothes and drove my daughter downtown for dance at the Capital Theatre.  It was soooooo cold.  The car said it was 22 and I sat in the car with my seat heater on procrastinating until it warmed up...but it never did!  I guy runner passed my car and I thought I better get my lazy butt out and into the cold.

I ran around the Salt Lake Temple and old Tabernacle, Joseph Smith Memorial Bldg., it was beautiful.  The Mormon Tabernacle Choir music was playing on the grounds.  Brides were out in their white gowns and everyone was there taking pictures.  It was a fun time to go and run around the grounds.  It made me think of my wedding day, and it also made me think about my family history.  My great, great, great grandfather Wilford Woodruff was the 4th president of the church.  I thought of how the media has recently said how the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints aren't Christians.  I also heard some people on the news saying that it is too bad that all of the Mormons weren't all killed by the mobs in Illinois.  Mormons have endured a lot.   I think it is great that two "Mormons" are running for president.  I wish now that I would have graduated in political science in college.  I just love politics and history and can't seem to get enough of them.

For being a "non-Christian" three of the probably 30 couples that have been through our house that is for sale have told the real estate agent that we have too many pictures of Christ in our house and that we should take them down.

We didn't have any family pictures that were good enough to send out as a Christmas card.  My husbands brother took 3 pics at my 7 yr olds dance performance.   My 13 yr old wasn't smiling in ANY of them! This was the best of the bunch and it just had to do.  He was ready to leave and didn't want to be there in the first place.  What do you do with an ornery teenager?

Merry Christmas!!!  In case you can't see it.....it says MISTLETOE! :)

I chased everyone around at my family party with my home-made kiss snatcher!  :D

I ran 5 in 39:29 on the dreadmill this morning.

awesome! I loved the post and was feeling good and scrolled down thinking I'd get a cute family Christmas pic or something then I saw that one and laughed. NOT what I was expecting from the post. Loved it!

Sounds like you had an awesome run and that your foot wasn't bothering you too much. I hope that is still the case. I love your wandering thoughts!

From Steam8 on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 11:54:07 from 166.70.55.77

Sorry Steam... but I have to comment on you blog about Mormons and Christians. The simple difference is that Christians believe the Holy Bible ALONE is the athority of God. Jospeph Smith is not recognized as a prophet (and his writings are not considered devine). The term Christian was given to people who's behavior, activity and speech were like "Christ" back in the New Testiment time. Because Christians, then and now, believe the Holy Bible ALONE is the athority of God, the name distinctly excludes Mormons from being classifed with that term.

I'll probably get blacklisted from the Blog for these comments ... It was happy knowing you guys :-(

From Rye on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 14:28:29 from 70.58.163.66

Steam8 I love your post and pics! Christmas is a great season. I do find myself being Scrooge at times..... Hope the foot heals.

IJR I appreciated your comments. I think what we LDS, Mormons, or whatever we are called bothers us the most, is the fact that Christ is at the center of our lives and religion. Being referred to as non-christians, and I am speaking for myself here, hurts. Being Christian to me is believing that through HIM and by HIM, we can obtain forgiveness for our shortcomings and return back to live with him. I believe all Christian Faiths promote love and respect for everyone. With the great work that organized faiths do in their respective communities, countries, and world, we should appreciate the good that is in each of us as we serve Our Maker. No blacklist here IJR...

From RAD on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 14:33:40 from 98.202.23.178

Steam, thanks for the family pic :)

IJR, Christian or non-Christian, call us what you want. It won't stop us from believing in or worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Oh, and if anyone black-lists you for your opinions and beliefs? Well, persecution is persecution whether by the minority or majority - it is all the same and we should love one another and be tolerant and patient. So, if they do - screw 'em! :)

From jun on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 14:34:41 from 205.158.160.209

IJR, while I agree with Rye on this one (as the true meaning of "Christian" means a central belief in Christ himself and not simply the Bible), I do fully respect your opinion and even agree it with in some respects as Mormons do fully believe in the Bible also. That being said, you're probably right, Sasha is so high and mighty he will probably ban you forever. Hahaha. It was good knowing you. Rest in peace.

From jun on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 14:46:22 from 205.158.160.209

And just to clarify IJR, my comment will likely get me banned before you. So let me rephrase and say "rest in peace to me". Ha.

From Steam8 on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 15:52:47 from 166.70.55.77

IJR...you are one of my favorite people on here-- I would never blacklist anyone....well, maybe Burt, but never you! ;)

Coming from a "Mormon" perspective. I believe in the Bible. I love the New Testament teachings and read it often. I love Jesus Christ with my whole heart. I think I will leave the "if I am Christian or NOT" to the Savior on judgment day. I think he alone is the one that is best at deciding that. I pray everyday, I try to be like him....even though I fall short every single day! What I am most grateful for is that he sacrificed his life for ALL of us, so that we might be able to live with him again.

From Steam8 on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 16:04:50 from 166.70.55.77

IJR...have you ever read the Book of Mormon? I know the thought of it probably makes you cringe with abhorrence! haha! Just read it for fun! See what you think. There is a promise in the back. It is in Moroni, Chapter 10.

We do believe that some parts of the Bible have been changed over the years and that some of the true doctrine of Christ has been removed and changed by man. Even Shakespear in one of his journals said that he wanted his name put in the Bible to be there forever. He changed it by putting his name in PSALMS 46. He was 46 years old and if you count 46 words from the top you will find Shake and if you count 46 words from the bottom, you will find spear. The Nicene Creed also changed the Bible according to their own interpretation.

Steam8, Sasha will either ban you by tomorrow or quote you on Sunday. Hard to tell.

From Steam8 on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 16:12:33 from 166.70.55.77

Well, good bye all....it was nice knowing you. I will be back in disguise under a different name...although I think Sasha will already be on the lookout for me and not let me back on! ha!

Still sore. I am really mad at myself! I really shouldn't kick with that foot. I have learned my lesson. I hope I haven't done something really bad to it! :( I rode the bike today.

From Burt on Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 17:31:29 from 174.255.244.20

IJR - you won't be banned from the blog for h your ignorance, but you will be blacklisted, that's for sure. Trust me, I've been blacklisted for less. Maybe it will make you feel better to know that you will be replaced by I Just Ran.
