"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

Still feeling fluey, but much better than the past two days!  Went around the corner from my house to run the Half Pregnant Half Marathon that Jun put on this morning.  I only ran the 10K.  It was suppose to storm this morning, but luckily it waited until now.  It was windy at the start and I was the only girl there.  I was a bit disappointed since I thought Kelli, Smooth, and maybe Rad would be there.  There was no shortage of guys however.  Dorsimus looked especially cute with his largely pregnant belly.  I couldn't look at him without laughing! I brought a balloon to put under my shirt to run half pregnant looking, but Jun (Craig) needed it since he forgot his and besides, I have been pregnant enough.

I didn't meet anyone from the blog except Dorsimus and Jun.  Craig's mom and a friend showed up right before the start and I was gladly not the only gal there.  The race started and the large pack of guys running the half were off and not long out of my sight! It was a great run. I have only been up to running 5 for a week and since having the flu and not feeling great, I was a bit worried that I would be running for bushes.

I ran into Leslie the half pregnant runner that the run was put on for when I was on my way back with about 2 miles to go.  She came a little late.  She looked cute running with her little bump.  I got a little nervous when I was all alone and ran across a bridge that had a picture of a LARGE cougar that had been on that bridge recently! yikes!

The run was beautiful.  The smell of fall was in the air and it was so nice to be out on the trails again.  I haven't been able to run that far since the middle of August.  I brought my ipod, but didn't even turn it on.  I wore some old running shoes because I thought I would be a muddy mess by the time I finished.  It was a bad idea since there were quite a few areas that were icy and I was slipping all over the place.  Loved the run. Wish I could do runs like that more but am always a bit afraid to go out on my own never knowing if I will run into a cougar or a creeper.  Thanks Craig for putting on a fun run!

What a fun and crazy race. Sounds like I need to venture outside the boundary of Idaho.

Dang, I wish I knew you were running this! I didn't want to be the only girl running in unfamiliar territory/terrain on muddy cold morning, especially when I had a R.S. Super Sat. at 10am. BUT, had I known you were gonna be there, I would've come and try to hang with you as best as I could.

Glad you went and did it and had a nice run! Sounds like you're feeling better from the flu and getting in more miles too. Here's to a great week ahead! :)

So glad you could make it. You looked strong out there. Thanks again.

It's too bad you had the flu at your house this week, but you still had a great week of running.

Sounds like fun, nice run.

Thanks for coming! It was fun to see you for a couple of minutes - sorry we didn't really get a proper introduction. :) Great job running out there.

Sounds like a GREAT run! I would have totally been there, but a while ago jun told me about it and I had already booked the flight to NC to run with QP. I was bummed it was the same weekend :(

Glad you had a good time despite being solo female. Esepcially good to see there were no cougar sightings!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the run. Sorry we didn't get a proper intro. I was thinking I'd be able to talk to you at Jun's house but then you weren't there :( Next time for sure.

Being the only girl you can put another win under your belt :-) Sounds like you had fun but I can't believe there's already snow and ice!

Smooth and RAD...I wish you would have been there! It would have made it so much more fun!

jsh...I didn't even know you were there. I couldn't tell if anyone from the blog was there since it is hard to tell what people look like from their small blog pictures! I wish I would have known!

IJR...I did take 1st place for the 10K for the ladies. I had really tough competition...a pregnant lady, Craig's 60+ year old mom and her friend! haha! I told Craig to give the award to the actual pregnant lady that ran. She deserved it!

Sounds fun!

Sounds very fun and nice. I did not know cougars or creepers bothered you, I thought you were only afraid of geese!
