Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

Ran a half marathon in 2 hours with my nephew.  Great day!

I ate a good breakfast, drank a protein shake on my way to meet my nephew and chewed down a cran-razz Shot Blok at mile 6.  I think I have been feeling crappy because I have been trying to lose the 4 pounds that I gained while I sat around while my foot was healing for 2 months.  It just isn't working and I am tired of always feeling hungry!  I'm going to change my blog name to fatandhappy! :)

allie...YOU ARE A STICK!!! You couldn't lose any weight, no wonder you aren't losing any, you can't! :)

Burt...you are looking good! I really wish I could see you running in panty hose! ;)

Those 4 lbs are winter weight to keep you warm. They'll come off in the Spring when you can actually work up a good sweat again.

Great miles today. Looks like you are getting back to your old self.

You have bounced back quite nicely. Did you lose any trees or shingles for the windstorm you guys experienced yesterday? I heard that it was nasty! Great run again!

From Steam8 on Sat, Dec 03, 2011 at 01:39:40 from 166.70.55.77

The wind wasn't bad here at all. We are at the mouth of a canyon and we have lost shingles and parts of our fence during some wind storms over the years. We were worried about this one, but it wasn't worse than any other storm. It has been pretty nice around here. We got lucky! Did the storm hit up your way?

From Rye on Sat, Dec 03, 2011 at 08:41:02 from 75.174.2.137

No wind luckily. We received a couple of inches of the white stuff though.

From flatlander on Sat, Dec 03, 2011 at 13:37:21 from 76.31.26.153

Great run. I wouldn't sweat the weight. It isn't very much and it will come off by itself as long as you can keep running, at least that is what happened to me the last time I came back from an injury.

Beautiful run...keep it rolling.

Seriously? 4 pounds? Whatever.

Nice 13 miler! It's a wonder you could carry all that extra weight so far. Just think how fast you will be after a trip to the bathroom :)

From Dan on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 14:14:01 from 24.209.83.20

Great miles! I am happy you are getting those miles back. 4 pounds, I have that beat! It will fall off in no time.

From Steam8 on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 14:32:19 from 166.70.55.77

Bonnie...birthday 44 was great! We started partying on Friday and didn't stop until it was over on Satuday night. I ordered his favorite cake and pastries from a French Bakery and picked it up Friday afternoon so that he could have his favorite sweet rolls for breakfast. We spent Friday night downtown and went out to eat, had hot chocolate and saw the city lights. Saturday we celebrated in between all of the family stuff and had lots of 44 surprises!

That's great Steam! Two days after a miserable 6 you have a great 13.5. That has to feel good.
