Short-Term Running Goals:

Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

I had one of the best days ever! I ran 8 in 1:07 (not bad for not being able to run for 6 weeks).  I ran behind Crestwood Park in a wooded area along a creek.  I saw a cute fox a few times that was running around in the field that I kept circling.

I took all four of my kids, plus two friends to the swimming pool for a couple of hours for the first time this year.  I then went to see my 13 year old get his black belt after 3 years of work.  It was one of those great mom days!

YEAH for a good running day!!! My mom lives right down by that pool, that is the pool I went to growing up. I bet that was a very pretty run!

Nice catch Derunzo. I guess I should reread my entry before posting it! ha

Kelli, I live at that pool all summer. We are trying to move over there...if we could just sell our house. Do you ever go to that pool? We should meet up this summer!

"Proud Mom" momments are great, they make up for all those, "not so proud mom" momments. By the way, you are brave to take 6 kids to the swimming pool. Did you even get to swim?

Nice run sis. So is it a black belt or a black vest? If it's a belt, I'm impressed, if it's a vest I have no idea what you're talking about :)

I haven't gone there in a few years, but I have a membership that will get me in for FREE so we could for sure meet up. That would be fun. I could drop my kids at my moms first and we could run on that little river trail first.
